Zaros ist ein traditionelles Dorf im Süden Kretas und liegt auf einer Höhe von 340 m. Die Hauptattraktion des Dorfes ist der berühmte See von Zaros, in dem Forellen und Lachse gezüchtet werden. In der Nähe befindet sich die Schlucht von Rouvas, die Teil des Gebirges der Psiloritis ist und sich ideal zum Wandern eignet. Die Route wird auch als Europäischer Wanderweg bezeichnet. In der Nähe des Dorfes Zaros gibt es traditionelle Wassermühlen, die seit dem 16. Jahrhundert in Betrieb sind, sowie archäologische Stätten und Klöster.

Zaros is a traditional village in southern Crete and is located at an altitude of 340m. The main attraction of the village is the famous lake of Zaros, which breeds trout and salmon. Nearby is the gorge of Rouvas, which is part of the mountain range of Psiloritis, and is ideal for hiking, the route is also known as the European Hiking Trail. Near the village of Zaros, there are traditional water mills that have been operating since the 16th century, as well as archaeological sites and monasteries.
