Stavromenos ist ein Küstenort im östlichen Teil der Bucht von Rethymno, nur 10 km vom Stadtzentrum entfernt. Zwischen dem Dorf und dem Strand verläuft die neue Nationalstraße von Rethymno nach Heraklion. Das Dorf selbst erstreckt sich entlang der alten Nationalstraße über eine Strecke von ca. 2 km. Das Dorf hat alle Arten von Annehmlichkeiten und hat sich in den letzten Jahren im Tourismus entwickelt. Es gibt eine Apotheke, eine Tankstelle, Supermärkte, Metzgereien, eine Bäckerei, Tavernen & Cafés und andere Geschäfte. Der schöne Sandstrand von Stavromenos ist sowohl für Einheimische als auch für Touristen eine Attraktion.

Stavromenos is a coastal town in the eastern part of the Rethymno Bay, just 10 km from the city center. The new national road from Rethymno to Heraklion runs between the village and the beach. The village itself extends along the old national road for a distance of approx. 2 km. The village has all kinds of amenities and has developed in tourism in recent years. There is a pharmacy, a gas station, supermarkets, butchers, a bakery, taverns & cafes and other shops. The beautiful sandy beach of Stavromenos is an attraction for both locals and tourists.
