Only 15 km from Heraklion, the capital of Crete, and the northern beaches, Pendamodi is an ideal starting point for excursions to every corner of the island. The E4 hiking trail passes near the nearby village of Ano Assites and includes many Byzantine chapels, gorges, river valleys and holly forests – truly a place of outstanding natural beauty.
