Ligaria (Lygaria) ist ein kleiner Badeort, zwei km östlich von Agia Pelagia in Heraklion auf der Insel Kreta. Er befindet sich in einer kleinen Bucht mit einem schönen, windgeschützten Sandstrand. Ligaria begann als Wohngebiet mit Sommerhäusern, die hauptsächlich von Bewohnern von Heraklion gebaut wurden, hat sich aber bald zu einem Ferienort entwickelt. Der Ort hat ein paar kleine Tavernen, Hotels und Cafés am Strand und ist bei Touristen und Einheimischen gleichermaßen beliebt. Es gibt eine regelmäßige öffentliche Busverbindung nach Heraklion. Die Entfernung nach Heraklion beträgt 18 km über die Nationalstraße.

Lygaria is a small seaside resort 2 kms to the east of Agia Pelagia, in Heraklion, on the island of Crete. It is built in a small cove with a lovely sandy beach protected from the winds. Lygaria started as a residential area comprising of summer houses built mainly by residents of Heraklion but soon it has developed to a tourist resort. It has a couple of small taverns, hotels and cafes by the beach and it is very popular with tourists and locals alike. There is regular public bus connection to Heraklion. The distance to Heraklion is 18 kms via the national road.
