Kissamos (Gebiet)

Die Region Kissamos umfasst den nordwestlichen Teil von Chania auf der Insel Kreta. Es ist eines der am wenigsten erschlossenen Gebiete in Bezug auf den Tourismus und verbindet eine zerklüftete Landschaft wie die Halbinseln Gramvoussa und Rodopou mit sanften Hügeln, die von Olivenbäumen bedeckt sind. Kissamos ist auch für seine landwirtschaftlichen Produkte wie Wein und Olivenöl bekannt. Es bietet einige schöne Strände wie Falassarna, das oft zu den 10 schönsten Stränden weltweit gewählt wird. Die Hauptstadt der Region ist Kastelli (auch Kissamos genannt).

 

The Kissamos region comprises the northwestern part of Chania on the island of Crete. It is one of the least developed areas in terms of tourism and combines a rugged landscape like the Gramvoussa and Rodopou peninsulas with rolling hills covered with olive trees. Kissamos is also known for its agricultural products such as wine and olive oil. It offers some beautiful beaches like Falassarna, which is often voted one of the 10 most beautiful beaches in the world. The capital of the region is Kastelli (also called Kissamos).
