Das charmante Dorf Kirianna (Kyrianna) liegt an der Nordküste Kretas, ca. 13 km von der Stadt Rethymno und ca. 5 km vom Strand entfernt.  Kyrianna ist  ein mittelgroßes charmantes Dorf mit etwa 400 Einwohnern. Das Dorf hat Annehmlichkeiten wie einen Supermarkt, mehrere Tavernen und Cafés. Das gesamte Gebiet gehörte im 17. Jahrhundert Mathaios Kallergis, einem sehr wohlhabenden Mann, dem fast alle Dörfer östlich von Rethymno gehörten, einschließlich des Klosters Arkady.
Im Zentrum von Kyrianna befindet sich die byzantinische Kirche Panagia (Entschlafung der Jungfrau Maria) mit kreuzförmiger Architektur. Die Kirche hat eine große Kuppel, die an der Kreuzung der Seitenschiffe getragen wird, die das Kreuz bilden. Vor der Kirche befindet sich ein Glockenturm mit drei Bögen, einzigartig in seiner Schönheit und detaillierten Handwerkskunst. In der Kirche befindet sich ein Marmorstück, das mit Reliefs verziert ist, die das Leben Christi und der Heiligen zeigen.
Der nächste Strand befindet sich in Pigianos Kampos, das nur 5 km entfernt ist. Der Sandstrand ist 20 km lang und erstreckt sich bis in die Stadt Rethymno. Der Strand in Pigianos Kampos bietet alles, was Sie für einen entspannten Tag brauchen: Wassersport, Bars, Restaurants und Geschäfte.

The charming village of Kirianna (Kyrianna) is located on the north coast of Crete, about 13 km from Rethymno town and about 5 km from the beach. Kyrianna is a medium sized charming village with around 400 inhabitants. The village has amenities such as a supermarket, several taverns and cafes. The entire area belonged to Mathaios Kallergis in the 17th century, a very wealthy man who owned almost all the villages east of Rethymno, including Arkady Monastery.
In the center of Kyrianna is the Byzantine church of Panagia (The Dormition of the Virgin Mary) with cruciform architecture. The church has a large dome supported at the junction of the side aisles that form the cross. In front of the church is a three-arch bell tower, unique in its beauty and detailed craftsmanship. Inside the church is a piece of marble decorated with reliefs depicting the life of Christ and the saints.
The nearest beach is in Pigianos Kampos which is only 5 km away. The sandy beach is 20 km long and stretches to Rethymno town. The beach in Pigianos Kampos has everything you need for a relaxing day: water sports, bars, restaurants and shops.
