Kavousi ist ein charmantes Küstendorf an der Hauptstraße von Sitia nach Agios Nikolaos und wird von lokalen Bussen gut bedient. Dieses traditionelle Dorf hat mehrere Tavernen, Kafenia und kleine Geschäfte sowie regelmäßige Besuche von reisenden Händlern. Hübsches Dorf am Fuße der fast senkrecht ansteigenden Nordwestflanke der Thripti-Berge. An der Durchgangsstraße Oleander und Maulbeerbäume, der Ortsteil sehr verwinkelt mit Treppen, Pflasterwegen , Kirche und Kapellen. Sehenswürdigkeiten in der Nähe sind die Chavgas-Schlucht und ein etwa 3.250 Jahre alter Olivenbaum in Archaia Elia Azoria. Es gibt einen schönen kleinen Strand in Tholos. Der internationale Flughafen von Heraklion ist eineinhalb Autostunden entfernt.

Kavousi is a charming coastal village on the main road from Sitia to Agios Nikolaos and is well served by local buses. This traditional village has several taverns, kafenia and small shops as well as regular visits from traveling traders. Pretty village at the foot of the almost vertically rising north-west flank of the Thripti Mountains. On the through road oleander and mulberry trees, the district very winding with stairs, cobblestone paths, church and chapels. Nearby attractions include the Chavgas Gorge and an approximately 3,250 year old olive tree in Archaia Elia Azoria. There is a nice little beach in Tholos. Heraklion International Airport is an hour and a half away by car.
