Das Erholungsgebiet von Istro (Istron) ist eine Gemeinde ca. 10 km von der kosmopolitischen Stadt Agios Nikolaos entfernt. Es liegt an der Nationalstraße und in der Nähe der traditionellen Dörfer Kalo Horio und Pirgos. Istron selbst ist mit vielen lokalen Tavernen und Restaurants, Bars, Cafeterias, Geschäften und einer Bank gut bedient. Insbesondere gibt es mehrere schöne Strände in der Umgebung. Der internationale Flughafen von Heraklion ist innerhalb einer Autostunde erreichbar.

The recreational area of Istro (Istron) is a municipality about 10 km from the cosmopolitan city of Agios Nikolaos. It is on the national road and close to the traditional villages of Kalo Horio and Pirgos. Istron itself is well served with many local taverns and restaurants, bars, cafeterias, shops and a bank. In particular, there are several beautiful beaches in the area. Heraklion International Airport can be reached within an hour’s drive.
